Identify two change theories, and in your selection process include asking your mentor which one(s) he or she uses or has used. Compare and contrast each one and then note which theory makes the most sense for implementing your specific EBP project?

Name one internal (facility, unit or health care setting where the change process is situated) and one external stakeholder (individual or group outside the health care setting) and (1) why their support is necessary to the success of your project, and (2) how you will go about securing that support.

After discussion with your mentor, name one financial, one quality, and one clinical aspect that needs to be taken into account for developing the evidence-based practice project. For each aspect, explain how your proposal will directly and indirectly impact each of the aspects.

Access and review the "Capstone Project Topic Selection, Rationale, and Approval" assignment from Topic 1. Now that you have completed a series of assignments that have led you into the active project planning and development stage for your project, take your discussion a step further and briefly describe your proposed solution to address the problem, issue, suggestion, initiative, or educational need. Based on how you will evaluate your EBP project, which independent and dependent variables do you need to collect? What basic statistical analysis might be run to determine statistical significance?

Not all EBP projects result in statistically significant results. Explain what clinical significance is, the difference between clinical and statistical significance, and how you might use clinical significance to support positive outcomes in your project.

Sustaining change can be difficult, as there are many variables that can affect the process and implementation. One critical component of EBP is to ensure that practice change is hardwired so that it will thus continue to impact outcomes over time. Name two potential barriers that may impact your EBP change proposal from continuing to obtain the same desired results six months to a year from now, and your strategies for overcoming these barriers.

Dissemination of EBP and research, such as presenting results at a conference or writing an article for a journal, is an important part of professional practice. Name one professional journal and one nursing or health care conference where you might present our project as a presentation or article and discuss why each of your choices is the best option for you to disseminate your new knowledge.

Discuss why EBP is an essential component of the practice of a BSN-prepared RN. Then name two ways in which you will continue to integrate evidence into your practice and encourage it within your work environment. What problems or impediments do you foresee in being able to follow your EBP action plan? What steps can you take to minimize these?
