Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to provide learners the opportunity to develop a Curriculum Vitae(CV)/Resume and ensure completion of the ePortfolio project. Your ePortfolio will demonstrate your competence in learning the content presented to you throughout the MSN-AT degree program. Evidence from your didactic classes will help you reflect upon and demonstrate achievement of the MSN Program Outcomes. The CV/resume is part of your eportfolio as part of your career planning as an advanced practice nurse.

Assignment Overview

The student will complete a resume to upload into the ePortfolio in order to be ready for new job and career opportunities. This will also be a final check of the ePortfolio assignment to ensure that all documents identified on the MSN ePortfolio document have been loaded into the ePortfolio.

Create a brief cover letter and a curriculum vita (CV) as part of the professional ePortfolio.

A CV is a longer, more detailed summary of your professional activities and resumes are usually only one-two pages long. At this stage in your career, your CV will probably be short.

The cover letter should include a short statement about yourself and your career (the professional statement) as well as 2-4 professional goals. The CV includes information about your educational background, professional experiences, scholarly work, awards, honors, and affiliations. The CV must be factual, well organized and free from errors.

While the format for a cover letter and CV can vary, the writing style and format must be internally consistent; APA format is not required. The CV must follow a professional outline; the outline below provides you with the standard information contained in a CV. If you have not had the opportunity in your career to accomplish some of the milestones listed, delete that area and move on to the next part of the CV.

Please note: If you do not receive a proficient rating in any major content category, you can re-submit your assignment with revisions in those content categories to receive a better grade. You have one additional opportunity to revise after the initial submission in order to make improvements. The initial submission must be a complete paper, rough drafts will not be graded. All revisions must be submitted no later than Sunday of Module 7 at 11:59pm. (You cannot revise your APA for a higher grade in that category).
