Interview (by telephone, in person or by pre-scheduled webex meeting) a master or doctorally prepared informatics nurse specialist or technology specialist. Summarize the interview, in the attached Interview Template (Links to an external site.), by addressing the following:

Introduction of the interviewee including job title, years of experience along with employment and educational background. Please don't include name of interviewee or organization in this assignment.

Criteria for Content

Introduction provides a detailed overview of the interviewee including general practice setting, background and education of the interviewee without disclosing either the interviewee name or the name of their organization.

Key elements of the interview are summarized on the template with an emphasis on describing the NI or Technology specialists' functional roles in which the interviewee practices and degree to which the interviewee functions as a member of an interdisciplinary/interprofessional team as an MSN level leader and decision-maker, theoretical framework and model utilized in their/the organizations informatics practice.

Reflection includes the student's unique insights about what was learned from completing this assignment. Uses scholarly, evidence-based resources to support content and opinions.

Conclusion includes overview of interview highlights from each question and reflection.

Criteria for Format and Special Instructions

Required texts may be used as supplemental references, however evidence-based, scholarly sources no older than five years should be your primary source. A minimum of one evidence-based, scholarly source must be used for this assignment.

All aspects of the paper must use the most current edition of APA format including appropriate attribution of ideas, information, opinions, and content.

You are to address your current EHR program used at your organization. If your organization uses paper charts, consider an EHR that you would like to further explore and implement at your organization for this assignment. Part of the assignment will include providing an introduction to your EHR, including name and inception of it being used at your organization. Also, provide a historical background of when this program was first initiated at your organization and why and a little about the program itself. The focus of your PPT presentation is to address the positive factors about this program, the concerns with the chosen program, and what can be done to improve the concerns to ensure the use of the EHR is safe. The reflection of greatest learning will address what you have learned about the EHR along with how to improve the use for best patient outcomes and documentation of services provided. The summary will provide an overall review of the key points obtained during this assignment.

Create a PowerPoint presentation to address the following:

Introduction should include a definition of an EHR. Please include the name of the EHR program at your facility and when it was started at your organization. Please support this section with a scholarly source.
