For the activity, you will:
· Learn the basics of constructing the content and communication of a pitch for a venture idea
· Consider the importance of understanding the expectations and motivations of your audience
· Assess the amount of research and thought that goes into effective communication of a business opportunity
You will present your idea or an existing idea. The presentation is a modified slide deck using the following organization (does not include a traction or financials slide):
Slide 1: Title Slide 2: Company Purpose/Description Slide 3: The Problem / Need Slide 4: The Solution Slide 5: Why Now? Slide 6: Market Opportunity Slide 7: Getting Customers Slide 8: Competitor Analysis & Differentiation Slide 9: Team Slide 10: Call to Action
Each slide is worth 2.5 points. Submit a PPTX or pdf file as your submission.
Before you start, consider the following questions:
· Can anyone describe what the product or service is and how it works?
· Who is the target audience and what is the problem that is being solved?
· Is this a good opportunity? why?
· Are there any contextual factors that lead you to believe that this is a good opportunity?
· How is the product unique or different from the competition and other alternatives?
· How does the company plan to make money?
· Do the skills of the team match the needs of the business?
· What resources are required to launch the business?
· What did you think of how the information will be communicated?
