Imagine a researcher is interested in examining the psychological impact of principals’ perceived conflict management style on teachers’ productivity. In this case, the researcher is interested in the relationships amongteachers’ self-esteem, how teachers perceive their principals’conflict management style, and teachers’ productivity. The researcher decides to use a convenience sample of 40 teachers. These teachers completed a survey including a number of demographic questions as well as measures to assess perceived principals’ conflict management style, teacher’s self-esteem, and productivity. Below are the demographic questions and participants’ responses. Please use these data to complete the questions below (these data have already been entered in a SPSS file; see the note below the data table).

What is your age (in years)? |
How long have you been teaching (in years) “Experience?” |
What topic do you teach (M = math, S = science, A = art, FL = foreign language) “Topic?” |

In this SPSS assignment, use the tools learned in Gravetter and Wallnau (2013) Chapters 1 and 2 to describe the sample. This will include the use of frequency distributions as well as the development of the results and conclusions. The following videos may also be helpful:

1. Create two bar charts: one with gender in the x-axis and one with topic taught on the x-axis.
2. Create two frequency distributions in SPSS for gender and topic taught. Describe the sample fullyusing APA formatfrom Chapter 5 in the APA Manual. For example, what percentage of the sample is male, female? What percentage teaches math, science, art, and a foreign language?
3. For age and years teaching (“experience”), create two frequency distribution tables (one for age and one for experience).
a. Describe and support the shape of the frequency distributions.
b. Differentiate between the frequency, percent, valid percent, and cumulative percent columns.
c. How might the experience variable be grouped to provide a more meaningful distribution?
4. Normally conclusions are drawn based on the data, but in this example only demographics were considered. However, what limitations might exist with this study (e.g., examining the sample) and what are some recommendations for future research?
5. What other demographic questions might the researcher have asked?
