Scenario:

You are part of a small cross-functional team rewriting your organization’s policies and procedures document for distribution via the company’s intranet. The current policies do not differentiate between ideologies and discriminatory behaviors. You’ve been tasked with defining and differentiating between ideologies and discriminatory behaviors as a section to be added to the policies and procedures document.

Instructions:

Part One

In 250 - 500 words, you should:

· Define ideology.

· Choose two of the ideologies below

· Racism

· Ageism

· Sexism

· Heterosexism

· Cisgenderism

· Ableism

· Provide a clear and thorough definition, description, and background of the ideologies chosen.

· Explain how these ideologies impact access to the following:

· Employment

· Medical treatment

· Education

· Write a statement of inclusion for the policies and procedures manual specific to the ideologies chosen. This statement should have the people impacted by these ideologies in mind.

Part Two

· Create a list of discriminatory behaviors to be prohibited by the organization.

· Research recent cases of discriminatory behavior on the EEOC website.

· Select one case and write a 250-500 word summary.

· Provide an explanation of the connection between the discriminatory behavior in the case and one of the ideologies defined and explained in part one. Be sure to address the consequences of the discriminatory behavior at the heart of the EEOC case.
