In Module 3, you interacted with content about the history of social control of various racial and ethnic groups in the United States. This assignment requires you to reflect on that history, consider what progress has been made, and what still needs to be done to address the legacy of racial discrimination/racialized social control in the United States.

Step 1:  Take a few minutes to complete the "Who shares your views on race? (Links to an external site.)" survey and read the information it provides after each response. Thinking about and responding to these questions may help you think about the reflection questions asked in Step 2.

Step 2:  Respond to the following prompts:

• Do you think the recent increased public attention to the history of slavery and racism in America is good or bad for society? Why? (make sure you provide a brief explanation for your response).
• Have race relations in the United States, gotten better, gotten worse, or stayed the same during your lifetime? Why do you think this and what (if anything) should be done to address this issue?
