from the book Jack Eller Violence and Culture American and American Values Psychocutural Dimension:
Eller writes that we are "more than a little callous and unempathetic toward the suffering of others". Is Eller correct in his assessment to broadbrush the whole of Americans and their values based on the "sins" of a few, or are we wholly to blame for our "callousness"?
