Industrial fermentation is the use of microbial fermentation to make products useful to humans such as bread, beer, wine, cheese, biofuel and sewage treatment. 

  • Describe one example of industrial fermentation. 
  • Your description should list the reactants (inputs), products (output), and organism used. 
  • Be as specific as possible.  For example, different cheese are made using different microorganisms and slightly different ingredient.
  • Lastly, explain the advantages and disadvantages of a microorganism using fermentation to generate energy compared to aerobic respiration.
