This can include food recalls, infectious disease outbreaks, identification of new species, information about the use/impact of microbes in industry or medicine, development of new treatments/vaccines, or anything else highlighting microbiology in the real world. 

For each example you find, please write a brief summary of the article, press release, news story, etc and include why you chose it. Additionally, if the resource is found online (I expect most to be), please add the link. Each story should be from the last 2-3 years.
