Apply Your Knowledge Assessment
Using the problem-solving model discussed in this lesson, solve a communication problem that is occurring in your small business. If you do not currently own a small business, use a communication problem that is occurring in your place of employment or another poor communication situation you have been involved in at some point in your career.
Instructions: This assessment has three parts. You should respond to each section independently. Your response should completely address all parts of the question. Make sure and cite any references within each section.
Compose your response to the assignment in a word processing program. Run spell-check. Review your work to make sure that you completely answered all questions. Copy your work by simultaneously holding down the Ctrl and A keys to select the text, and then simultaneously hold down the Ctrl and C keys to copy it. Then, click on the link below to open up the online submit form for the assessment. Paste your document into the online submit form by inserting your cursor in the submit box, and simultaneously hold down the Ctrl and V keys.
1. Identify the Issue and List Your Solutions
Describe your communication issue or problem and then list a minimum of three possible solutions. Be sure to describe each of the possible solutions and why you selected them as possible solutions.
2. Evaluate and Select an Option
Review the possible solutions you identified, evaluate each of them using some sort of criteria that are important to your business, and then select one as the best solution. Be sure to describe your evaluation process and the rationale for selecting the best solution.
3. Implement and Evaluate
Write an essay that has an introduction, body, and conclusion that describes how you will implement and evaluate the solution you selected in this assessment.
