Exploring Formulas, Functions, and Charts
Scenario
Note: You use the Spreadsheet you created in Unit 5 to complete this Assignment.
Now that you have all the appropriate budget data added to your workbook, you want to analyze it to determine how much your expenses are each month and year as well as how much you make per year to determine if you are spending too much and where you are spending it.
- Create a formula or use the AutoSum function to have Excel calculate the total the expense for each month.
- Create a formula or use the AutoSum function to have Excel compute the Total Annual Income.
- Create a formula or use the AutoSum function to have Excel calculate the Total Annual Expenses.
- Create a formula to determine the percentage of income used for each annual expense total.
- Be sure to format it as a percentage. Place that formula in the column next to the total of each monthly expense. (GEL 2.3)
- At the bottom of your budget add the following three functions to calculate the following based on the monthly expenses:
- Min
- Max
- Average
- In cell A1 add a function to show the current date
- Rename your worksheet tab to Budget Detail.
Now that you have successfully set up your personal budget, formatted it to look professional, and added some formulas and functions analyze your overall income and expenditures, now you will add a pie chart to visually display your expenses.
Using only your monthly expense labels and your Annual expense totals, create a Pie Chart in a worksheet that will show how you are spending your money.
