The textbook asks, is “profiling” a form of discrimination? Why was “prejudicial profiling” suggested in this chapter as a more proper term than “racial profiling”?

For your initial post, I request you answer the following question?

What is the difference between criminal profiling and “prejudicial (racial) profiling”? First define both concepts, then answer, are they legal, moral, or acceptable?

Second, if a criminal profile suggests that a probable suspect, a serial rapist for example, is a minority male under the age of 40. Does this change your answer? Explain?

My same caution: this is an academic assignment and there is only room for facts, logical arguments, and supported opinion. There is no room for grandstanding as this is not a blog or a social media platform.
