HSM200 Community Organization

This assignment asks you to do three things. 

1.  Select a Community Service Project that you would like to join in their efforts.

2.  Go through the actual steps in devising your plan of action.  You may have to call some agencies for information.  Is there a need in your community or another venue?

3.  Using the Essential Steps of Record Keeping, set up your progress.  You will write in each of the eight steps using the correct number to record your progress, at least 400 words.  The value is 10 points.  Start a new line with the accompanying number after completing each step. 

OR: You may choose to review Naila's Law and reflect on what she did.  You would need to use citations from the materials I have presented to you.  A 500 word essay.

The Eight Record Keeping Essential Steps in Practice:

¤  1.  Opening summary.

¤  2.   Data gathering and social history.

¤  3.   Assessment.

¤  4.   Decisions and actions resulting from initial assessment.

¤  5.   Service planning, including service options and purpose, goals, and plans of service.

¤  6.   Interim notes.

¤   7.  Special materials (e.g., forms, consents, emergencies, and service reviews).

¤  8.   Closing summary.

¤  These steps are the same for micro, mezzo and macro practice.
