Fully explain your goals (personal, academic, and professional)

ASSIGNMENTS: All assignments must be turned in on time for credit. They must be typed. Please refer to the syllabus: “No credit will be granted without ALL hours and assignments being completed.” Note: This assignment packet is separate from your daily/weekly journal however; some of your journal entries may reflect answers from your assignments.

TOTAL: 35 points (5 points each)

1. Fully explain your goals (personal, academic, and professional) for your work based learning experience this summer. You should have a minimum of two goals for each/six goals total. Discuss these goals with someone else in the class and determine if they are SMART goals.

2. Create a metaphor that explains how you felt the first two weeks of your work based learning.

#3, #4

1. Obtain a Mission Statement from one of the organizations you are working for. Discuss the culture with a supervisor, coworker, or mentor. Describe in writing, the organizational culture as you see it through your experience.

2. Ask your supervisor if they have an Ethics/Professionalism policy and discuss it with them. (Be sure to include a copy). Explain any codes (written or unwritten) of professionalism and ethics at your workplace. Explain how YOU see professionalism exhibited or not exhibited at your workplace. Give specific examples.

1. Write a letter of Recommendation. Take the role of your supervisor and write your own letter of Recommendation. Discuss your strengths and challenges in the job and give specific behavioral examples. You may want to show your supervisor after you have completed it to discuss if they see the same characteristics exhibited in your work/volunteerism.

2. Write a brief paragraph on the way(s) you can/will be of service to your profession and your community in the future. (Give two specific examples in detail of each)

1. Reflect on your work-based learning experience and write a reflection on its significance for your learning. Consider one or two consequences for your experiences. How has it made a difference in what you are able to do and understand? Use specific examples, and clearly discuss how it connects. If you were to give yourself a grade on your competency in your internship what would it be? (0.0-4.0)? Why?
