Forum 4: Student's Rights and Responsibilities
Discuss the current state of education in terms of student rights and responsibilities. What rights do they have under the U.S. Constitution? For instance, do they have free speech in the school newspaper? What about locker searches; is that a violation of their rights? What if the student is 18 years old? What are some of the stories/issues you see in regards to this issue? Look up one of the educational lawsuits found at the Cornell site and discuss how it might still be used today.
