2. Then, describe how an understanding of both areas might help improve the lives of families/children.

3. Discuss how each might be applied in your future or current career in human services.

4. Discuss the pros and cons of becoming certified as a Family Life Educator.

The field of Human Development and Family Studies examines individual development through a family systems perspective, which entails understanding how a person's growth is shaped within the family context.

For this assignment, submit a  2–3-page written essay that answers the following:

1. Summarize the core constructs of human development and family sciences.

2. Describe why it is important to study individual development when considering how families work. Then, discuss why it is important to understand family dynamics in order to understand individual behavior.

3. Finally, reflect on your personal development and your family. Give an example of how your family dynamics have shaped your personal growth and development; Then describe how your individual development has affected how your family interacts.
