Experiment 2: Viewing Live Specimens
While observing the protists, you will notice that each member will exhibit different types of locomotion, speed, etc. You will observe a slowing reagent in part of the lab to get a better look at the fast moving protists.

Procedure
- Observe the movement of the protists with and without slowing agent. Notice the different types of locomotion employed by different types of protists.
Post-Lab Questions
- In the space provided below, draw the various members of the protist kingdom that you were able to observe. Next to each drawing, describe the speed and type of locomotion you observed.
- Did you notice a difference in the protists when the slowing agent was used? Which members were you able to see more clearly? Were there species that were still moving too fast to see clearly? Could you identify any species specifically? Do any of them look similar to specimens you observed in the first lab?
