Ecological communities consist of multiple species, which form a food web and compete for habitat and biotic and abiotic resources. Populations of individual species fluctuate pending resource allocation and fitness, and interact with other community members in a variety of ways. Intraspecific competition and interspecies interactions shape phenotypic characteristics and exert selective pressure on all individuals leading to adaptations of populations.

Question:

Consider an ecological community in your local biome, and focus on interspecific or intraspecific interactions. Which species are likely to have a great influence on another species in the community? Describe three interspecies interactions , then select one for in-depth discussion. How do community characteristics shape species interactions and how would you study and test if co-evolution occurred?
