Examples of affinity portals and focused-content portals

Purpose

To further investigate this week's topics and to demonstrate your understanding of e-commerce as it relates to business, technology, and society.

Action Items

Find two examples of affinity portals and two examples of focused-content portals.

For each example, surf the site and describe the services each site provides.

Try to determine what revenue model each of your examples is using.

If possible, also try to find out how many members or registered visitors each site has attracted.

Create an 5 - 10 slide electronic presentation, including screen shots, explaining why each of your examples should be categorized as an affinity portal or a focused-content portal. Include references and any necessary appendices (i.e., organizational charts, graphs, etc.).
