Ransomware has become the most significant cyber threat facing the UK. It is as harmful as state-sponsored espionage - with the frequency and severity of ransomware attacks consistently increasing. 

In the US, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA ) leads the national effort to understand, manage, and reduce risk to cyber and physical infrastructure. Imagine you lead the CISA. The UK government contacts you and briefs you about the increasing ransomware attacks on their retail market. The UK government is willing to give you a multi-million dollars contract over the next 3 years to help them fight these ransomware attacks. Outline a scenario, in ransomware attack on UK's retail market, showing specific steps that correspond to the cyber operation. Comment on the difference between this and non-applicability of cyber operations on the retail market sector in general. What approach would you take to control these ransomeware?
