During the 8-week module, you will complete a written assignment (paper), which is to be submitted via Blackboard; emailed copies will NOT be accepted. Only submit papers through Blackboard in WORD format (no .docx papers accepted). A ROUGH DRAFT of the paper is due at midnight Wednesday of Unit 6; the FINAL COPY paper is due at the end of Unit 7. A list of possible writing topics is below. You may choose one topic for your paper. Be sure to review the policy on late assignments in the syllabus.
The rough draft is worth 15% of your grade. The final copy of this paper is also worth 15% of your final grade. This assignment will be a minimum of four pages, double spaced with Times New Roman size 12 font and one-inch margins on all sides. Please use appropriate sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and references, and follow APA format in your writing. To avoid plagiarism, you must use in-text references (also known as internal documentation or in-text citations) in your work in accordance with APA style to avoid plagiarism. Be sure to refer to the Publication Manual of APA, the Writing Center, or other appropriate sources, which are listed under the APA resources section of the course information tab, for assistance with APA format.
For this paper, use at least three scholarly sources to support your claims, in addition to the textbook.Do not use internet sources, such as Wikipedia or other unreliable web-based resources, which lack strong academic backing. The ONLY EXCEPTIONS will be that two of your three sources may be from websites of the government organizations that are listed in Table 4.7 (such as OSHA) or from one of the safety organizations that are listed in Tables 4.5 and 4.6 (such as National Safety Council) of Chapter 4 of your textbook.
