Instructions

Using the Cause-Effect Extended Draft Outline Template that you completed for last week’s assignment, you are now ready to compose the full and final cause and effect essay. Be sure to read this week’s lesson and Chapter 9 in your text for information about developing your body paragraphs and revising your introduction and conclusion.

Successful assignments will do the following:

•             Focus on either one effect that emerges from multiple causes or one cause and multiple effects that arise from it.

•             Follow a clear pattern of either explaining the single cause or the single effect, with your body paragraphs, then, including an expansion on (with descriptions, examples, and logic) the several causes or the several effects.

•             Include a thesis statement at the end of the introduction that conveys the overall goal of the cause/effect relationship and provides relevance for your reader.

•             Include details to establish the ways in which your causes and effects and powerfully related.
