This week’s learning module focuses on  character. After reading each of the assigned stories for week 2,   answer the questions below for your main response. 

1) In his 1951 work entitled  Requiem for a Nun, William Faulkner wrote, “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.” Examine how this quotation applies to the character of Emily Grierson in “A Rose for Emily,” and support your points with textual evidence. Then, discuss how it may apply to you or someone specific that you know, using a specific personal experience as illustration. How do events from our past influence and inform our present-day lives and decisions?
