Please read the article. The story of bottled water: AFootnoted and Annotated Script.

In Annie Leonard's "The Story of Bottled Water: A Footnoted and Annotated Script", the footnotes to the piece are much longer than the main text. Why do you think Leonard and her staff at The Story of Stuff Project decided to document the text so heavily, filling it with references to websites, books, and articles? Compare the style in which the footnotes are written to the style of the main text. Is there a style you prefer? Why or why not?
