Discussion 

1. You have received suspected forged checks and a handgun in the crime lab that need to be processed for latent prints. Utilizing the CBDIAI Chemical Interactive Program:  https://www.cbdiai.org/interactive-chemical-reagent-program.html . Identify the surface type and explain the proper sequencing string for each item.

2. Handguns have textured surfaces and it is difficult to develop latent prints on these surfaces. Touch DNA should be considered as part of the processing protocol for handguns. Should you swab the textured areas of the handgun prior to processing the handgun for latent prints?  Can the handgun be swabbed for Touch DNA after it has been processed for latent prints?  Explain your reasoning.
