Voter turnout in the United States is lower than in many other countries. Let’s investigate what factors keep people out of the electoral process.

Visit the U.S. Election Assistance Commission's ter and Vote in Your State website to get information on your state’s voter registration rules and to access your state’s Office of Elections for more information about election procedures. Use this information to respond to the questions below.  

1. List 2 or 3 requirements in your state for either the voter registration process, voter laws, or eligibility rules. Name your state.
2. Give an example of how voter ID laws or voter registration laws can affect voter turnout.
