Discussion IV

1)

In the byte 'Everything I need to know about strategy I learned at the national zoo', Liedtka discusses what she calls the 'fourth level of strategy', which is the level at which we ask ourselves what we can do to help manifest the strategy and make is successful. What, specifically, can you do within your organization to help bring the strategy you've designed into effect? Discuss specific initiatives here. Of the initiatives you've identified, which of these are you uniquely qualified to accomplish? Which do you think you would do a better job of initiating than any of your co-workers? Be sure to justify your answers.

2)

In the same byte, Liedka asserts that 'strategic thinking is both creative and analytic. It is an iterative process you cycle through continuously, learning something new with each pass that allows you to develop a better hypothesis for the next pass.' Looking down the road, what do you think your organization is going to 'learn'-- either about itself, about its competitors, or about the market in which it competes--after your strategy has been implemented? Discuss at least three specific outcomes here- don't say 'we're going to learn how to better serve our customers', or some other such nonsense.
