Purpose:  Define the role of contracts and agreements in IT Governance

Task:  Master Service Agreements are to enable vendors and contractors that have already been approved by the procurement approval process to be used for more contracted services. This allows trusted resources to be used again but also creates complacency in service provided by pre-approved vendors. Which one would you prefer if you were working for a system IT department?

Criteria for Success:  5 Points Possible

· 2 Points for describing the benefits of an MSA and continuing to use the same vendor for contracted services

· 2 Points for describing the issues with complacency with using the same vendor continually

· 1 Point for describing your preference in using the same vendor continually for contracted services and providing substantial reasoning for your choice.
