Discussion 2

· In Chapter 18 of the text, Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Friedman said this about an individual who might want to pursue a career in public relations:

. “Can this person add value every hour, every day—more than a worker in India, a robot, or a computer? Can he or she help my company adapt by not only doing the job today but also reinventing the job for tomorrow?” Friedman concluded that unless an applicant measures up to these criteria, he or she won’t get hired in today’s “hyperconnected world.”

· What is your interpretation of the quote above? Do you agree with Friedman’s assessment of an applicant?

· Discuss in detail how you would prepare yourself for a job in public relations. Provide 3–5 strategies for jump-starting your career. Visit the Strayer  Career Center  to help guide your response. ( https://careercenter.strayer.edu/)

· Support your response with an in-text citation or in-text citations to validate your points.
