In 2015, a San Bernardino couple walked into a workplace event and killed 14 people and injured many others. Law enforcement searched evidence from that event, and they were able to retrieve a mobile device. An Apple iPhone was taken to forensics for examination, but scientists were unable to gain access to the phone due to its security features. The manufacturing company Apple refused to assist in the investigation due to the privacy concerns for their customers and the security of their phones (codes), which resulted in a lawsuit between the U.S. government and Apple. Do you agree with Apple's privacy protection and security measures of refusing to unlock their phones due to civil privacy? Why, or why not?
