For the third examination, you have an option. You may answer the question below as indicated in the prompt and submit by June 12 or you may opt to count the best of your two previous exams twice.

Please answer the following question in approximately 1000 words (+/- 250). In answering, illustrate your arguments with concepts and concrete examples and make certain that you address the question. You should draw upon both the lectures and readings in formulating your answers. Your answer should be submitted on Canvas no later than 5:00 PM (17:00) PDT on June 10. Use a recognized reference style ( APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).

The rapid transformations of global communication and international relations have created new roles for emergent organizational forms in the global arena

While NGOs may challenge nation states’ actions in terms of significant global issues, they are simultaneously reliant upon nation-states. NGOs often do the ‘‘grunt’’ work and mundane tasks that governmental organizations cannot accomplish, creating strong organizational dependencies which enable NGOs to insinuate themselves into the policy process. On the other hand, in general, terrorist organizations challenge nation-states and do not help them do their work.

Both types of Advocacy Organizations, however, share organizational dynamics that are common to non-governmental organizations, recruitment, and retention, the management of resources and the organization itself, and communication within the organization and with the public.

How do NGOs and Terrorist Organizations retain their credibility (with their supporters and prospective supporters) and manage these important organizational needs? Discuss the similarities and differences on these important questions between the human rights and terrorist advocacy organizations.
