Focus of the Final Paper

Explain how the interaction fits the definition of conflict we learned in class and set the stage for your plan to use this example to demonstrate significance/relevance of each of the five topics. Focus on organizing each section using logical presentation of ideas. Start by introducing the topic and explaining what you learned about it from your resources. We need to have a complete picture of the theoretical foundation before you move forward to the application. Once the topic is fully explained, use your example of a conflict that you introduced in your second paragraph to demonstrate how it applies. Where in your example is the topic evident? How does your example help further our understanding of the topic you chose? Finish by explaining how applying this example supports your knowledge of the topic and its relevance to conflict resolution. Do this for every one of the five selected topics. Remember that for a strong formal outline, you do need to introduce enough evidence/support and relevance to specific examples you will be using. We need to see that you are fully prepared to make strong arguments and provide relevant evidence for each section. Try to offer enough support to demonstrate relevance and significance of each topic. Continue working on making stronger connections to text. Remember that all main points should be supported with relevant scholarly research. Consider having a diverse amount of scholarly evidence for each topic, as well as clear explanation/application of your conflict example. Make sure that your final paper also includes a section that discusses how this conflict was resolved and whether or not that resolution followed a best practices approach.

This course focuses on identifying types of conflicts and resolving conflicts through effective communication techniques. Your Final Paper will be an eight-to ten-page paper (excluding the APA title and reference pages) that will showcase what you learned about conflict and conflict resolution.

Identify a recent interpersonal, group, or organizational conflict that you were involved in and was later resolved. Select five of the topics listed below and discuss how they apply to your chosen conflict. You must use a minimum of five resources to help support your discussion of these topics. Be sure to focus on communication techniques that were used during the conflict management process. Argue whether the resolution to this conflict was a “best practices” approach to resolving this conflict.

Your paper must include an introduction paragraph that provides a high-level overview of your paper. In addition, your paper must include a strong conclusion paragraph that brings together the topics discussed. Remember not to introduce any new topics in your conclusion.

Writing the Final Paper
The Final Paper:

• Must be eight to ten double-spaced pages in length and formatted according to APA style
• Must include a title page with the following:
  • Title of paper
  • Student’s name
  • Course name and number
  • Instructor’s name
  • Date submitted
• Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
• Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
• Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
• Must use at least five scholarly resources, including a minimum of two from the University of Arizona Global Campus Library.
• Must document all sources in APA style,
• Must include a separate reference page, formatted according to APA style
