ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION
This is your first major essay in the class. This essay should be in MLA format. 
Please spend some time on this and work on creating a well written analysis of one
of the three choices: 

The Frank Deford article: Pay to Play


Print out the essay and use a pen or pencil to identify the fallacies, use of
rhetoric, and other attempts at non-argumentative persuasion. 
Evaluate the author's use of logos, pathos, and ethos
establish a clear thesis that makes an argument about the author's ability to make
an effective argument
Basically your thesis should be either the author's essay is effective because of A,
B, and C or the author's thesis is not effective because of A, B, and C. 
Your focus should be on the author's ability to use logic and reason effectively.
Also, try to adopt the structure of the essay template: Tannen Template(1).rtf or
Tannen Template.docx 
what you do not want to do is give your two cents on the issue. How you feel about
the subject is irrelevant. Focus on the author's reasoning and logic or misuse of
logic. Also, ethos needs to be taken into consideration as well.
