For thistask, you will write a paper that presents a comparison and analysis
ofcognitive psychology and the positive psychology movement. Be sure your
paperaddresses the following elements:

 
 - What are the key ideas in each theory? 


 - How do these theories relate to each other historically? 


 - How were each of these theories influenced by, and influential upon, the
zeitgeist in late twentieth century and early twenty-first century America? 


 - How has research supported these theories? 


 - Which one of these movements, if any, do you think will have the most lasting
impact on psychology in the twenty-first century? 


Supportyour paper with reference to three articles published in
peer-reviewedjournals. At least one should be original work of one representatives
of thesemovements. In addition to these specified resources, other
appropriatescholarly resources may be included.

Length: 5-7 pages 

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas andconcepts
presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insightsrelating directly to

Using the topic you submitted in week 4, now you will:

1. Track how this topic has changed historically over the first100 years of
psychology (approx.. 1879-1979). Specifically, you mustaddress the key people,
theories, and events that have influenced our knowledgeof your selected topic during
psychology’s first century.

2. Discuss how what we know about the topic changed from 1980-thepresent. Again, you
will need to include the key people, theories and eventsthat have affected what
psychologists know about this topic.

3. Assess how our knowledge and exploration of this topic willinfluence psychology
during the next 20 years.

Your paper should be well organized and contain an introduction,clear sections
related to each historical period, a summary, conclusions, and areference section.

Support your paper with at least 10 references, including thosefrom your annotated
bibliography submitted to your faculty member for review inWeek 4. In addition to
these specified resources, other appropriate scholarlyresources may be included.
