Assignment Description:

Write a 1500-1750 word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least three (3) sources in your essay. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.

• Rate one of the required textbooks for this course using the Texas Textbook Evaluation Tool (sections 1, 2, 3, & 5): Texas Textbook Evaluation Discuss findings in relation to the course objectives and value of subtopics to include organization/format, content, and inclusion/equity/diversity issues.

• Case Study: You are a community educator for a large health care system. You are preparing a series of two classes on smoking cessation that will be followed by a support group for people who want to quit smoking.

a) What resources might you use to help you with the content of the course?

b) Write objectives for the course in all three learning domains. Indicate how you plan to measure each of them.

c) Write objectives for the first class, with one at each of the six levels of the cognitive domain.

d) What teaching methods would you use in these classes? Develop a complete teaching plan based on a topic for instruction of your choosing, using the sample teaching plan in your reading (Bastable, Table 10-7, pg. 446) and teaching plan template (Bastable, Figure 10-3, pg. 444).
