Ashford ENG301 Week 2 Assignment

Ashford ENG 301 Week 2 Assignment Final Paper Thesis & Annotated Bibliography
Due by Day 7. Final Paper Thesis & Annotated Bibliography. With last week’s assignment, you began to carefully analyze how early American writers portrayed nature in very distinct ways. This week, you will continue to do so, and take another step toward completing your Final Paper by beginning to conduct research.
First, review the Final Paper instructions in Week Five of the online course or in the “Components of Course Evaluation” section of the course guide. For this assignment, you are to create a tentative thesis statement and annotate three scholarly secondary sources with which to begin your writing. Each of your annotations should be at least 100 words (5-6 sentences in length) and each should describe the main idea of the article and your rationale in including it in your Final Paper. How will each source support your thesis statement?
You should find secondary sources that have been written about the literary texts that you are reading in this course. For instance, you might find a secondary source that focuses on Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher.” On the other hand, you might research Jonathan Edward’s “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” Your annotations should describe how each critic will help you analyze certain author’s portrayals of nature in your Final Paper.
