Reflect on the quality health indicators that impact the care of diverse ethnic and cultural populations. Select one possible trend (it would be appropriate to discuss the area of focus you are using for your assignments and final project here) based upon the increasingly diverse population in the United States.  You may review Healthy People 2000, 2010, and 2020 to understand how health and illness trends have changed over the last 20 years.  Take your selected topic and provide at least three health and illness recommendations to improve the health of the nation by 2030. Include as part of your discussion how Health Care Reform has influenced health care. Based upon your experiences and proposed future strategies, how will you participate in shaping health policy to deliver equitable individual and population resources as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team?

DQ1 Reflect on your thoughts about how you have integrated the concepts of management and leadership that informed your role as a current or future nurse leader.  How has it provided you with the opportunity to develop and enhance your role in multidisciplinary teams, and what have you gained from this experience?

DQ2 Reflect upon a decision you have made or a problem you have solved in the past year.  Apply at least one theoretical approaches to your problem/decision.  Use reflection to do discuss the situation as well as the following;  What would you have done differently, if at all?  Identify if you were in a leadership or management position.  How would this situation be different if you were in the other position?Support your discussion and opinions with facts, relevant examples from personal nursing practice, and at least two citations from the reading or peer-reviewed professional nursing literature. Remember to use APA Manual (7th ed.) formatting for all discussion posts in-text and reference citations.

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is crucial to enhance best practices, yet barriers to practice integration continue to persist despite reported effectiveness.  As a current or future nurse leader, reflect upon the two strategies you would employ to integrate and implement EBP in your workplace.  Also discuss your thoughts about how you can inform the delivery of care through evaluation of credible evidence, including dissemination of research. What opportunities can you create for nurses to enhance participation in research and scholarship?  Be sure to include what you gained from this experience.

DQ1 Reflect on your thoughts about how you can design care for individuals, groups and communities based on evidence-based practice.  What lessons have you learned from your courses that have created a change in the way you think and practice as a baccalaureate-prepared nurse? Provide three examples of community health nursing practice roles that contribute to the core functions of public health. Discuss how these roles meet two QSEN standards.

The role of the global citizen requires an understanding of the unpredictable health care forces, ethical and legal issues, and socio-cultural sensitivity.  Reflect upon your role as a global citizen and share two examples about how your global perspective has expanded throughout your BSN journey.  After taking BSN440: Case Management, how has your knowledge base changed in terms of the Case Manager’s role in community based nursing?  How does the Case Manager navigate through each layer of healthcare to ensure the patients’ well-being?  What is the difference between a Case Manager and a Disease Navigator?
