Assignment: Evidence-based Practices Statement & Ongoing Annotated Bibliography

Description:

(1) Identify and define at least 10 evidence-based practices

· Develop a  list of these evidence-based practices that pertain to your chosen path. Develop a  short summary of each practice  and include who might use this practice (teacher, OT, SLP, art teacher, principal, adjustment counselor, etc.) and when and where it can be used in a public school setting.

(2) Additionally, include your position and/or attitudes towards non-evidence based treatments. Be sure to include how you might respond to a non-evidence based treatment recommendation (refer to Broadhead article).  This should be 1 paragraph (2 paragraphs max). Here is an example:

Discrete trial training  – This is a method of teaching that involves breaking down skills into small steps. It involves a SD/instruction (e.g., “Touch red.”), student behavior (e.g., touches red), and consequence – reinforcement or correction (e.g., “Yes – that’s red!”). Teachers and specialists (e.g., SLPs, SSWs, OTs, PTs, etc.) can utilize DTT. It is typically used in a 1:1 setting, but it can also be used with students in small-groups or students who are working on the same goals/skills. DTT can be used to teach a variety of skills, including verbal behavior, academics, etc.

(3) Provide at least 2 references in APA format. Write a  one-paragraph annotated bibliography for  two of the articles.

*Annotated bibliography should be NO longer than one paragraph.
