Scenario One
A client comes to counseling feeling depressed and very stressed out. However, the client is unable to pinpoint when the depression started. However, after a very thorough intake, you both agree that things have changed at the client’s job, and your client is no longer satisfied with the work. Your client is no longer interested in doing the work and finds it really hard to get up in the morning and go to work. Once at work, your client is bored and irritated, and everything about being there puts your client in a foul mood.
Now that you both understand that your client’s emotional concerns are work-related,
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
1. Explain how to move forward to help the client in Scenario One. What resources and tools will you use to help?
2. Discuss what additional information you will need in order to help move this client forward.
3. Explain the career goals of the client in Scenario One.
4. Explain how you will evaluate the results for the client in Scenario One using different assessments and tools.
Scenario Two
A client who has a criminal background comes to your office ready for assistance in determining a career. Your client is aware there might be limited opportunities because of past decisions, but has always scored very high on IQ tests and is able to pick up on things very easily. However, because of this capacity to be really good at a lot of things, your client is not sure what direction to go in.
