What is Muscle Tissue?
Muscle tissue is a specialized tissue present in the animals, which function applying forces on different parts of the body. The different types of muscle tissues connect in sheets and fibers. These sheets and fibers together known as muscles, and they control the contractile functions.
Functions of a Muscle Tissue
The muscle tissue functions as a connected nerve bundle. The muscle tissue consists of a nerve impulse traveling from the brain tells the muscle to contract. If you look at the muscle tissue at the cellular level, the muscle cells contain a complex of proteins, which contains actin and myosin. The muscle tissue functions as a move bones, compress chambers or squeezing various organs.
Types of Muscle Tissues
Skeletal Muscle Tissue
Skeletal muscles are an organ of the muscular system. In a human body, each skeletal muscle consists of skeletal muscle tissue, connective, nerve, and blood tissue. The fiber within the skeletal muscle tissue is a single cylindrical muscle cell made up of a bundle of convoluted fiber cells.

Cardiac Muscle Tissue
Cardiac muscle tissue is also known as myocardium, a specialized type of muscle tissue. The cardiac muscle tissues consist of cardiac muscle cells, which perform coordinated actions to help the heart pump and, in turn, circulate blood throughout the body. In the heart, there are cardiac muscle tissues that contain “pacemaker” cells. These specialized cells received nervous impulses from the brain and converted them into electrical impulses. The cardiac muscle tissues have a nucleus that contains the cell’s genetic materials.

Smooth Muscle Tissue
This type of muscle cell is used by various body systems to apply pressure to the various vessels and organs. The smooth muscle tissues are composed of sheets or strands of smooth muscle cells. These cells have fibers of actin and myosin supported by a framework of other proteins—these muscle tissues contract to form an “on or off” contraction of skeletal muscle in return.
