About The Author

Gabriel Garcia Marquez (6 March 1927-17 April 2014) was a Colombian novelist, journalist, short-story writer, and screenwriter. He was born in Colombia. He was one of the most significant writers in the 20th century. He was awarded the Neustadt International Prize for Literature and Noble Prize in Literature. He left his law school for a career in journalism. He is best known for his novels like One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Autumn of the patriarch, and Love in the time of cholera.

About The Novel

The story is about a lost town, Macondo, and the family who discovered it, the Buendia’s. The story shows a significant turning point for the town of Macondo when it comes in contact with neighboring towns. The town faced a civil war, and daily life gets disturbed. The story also shows the major turning points in Buendias like life, death, and love affairs. The story represents the struggles of the town people and the Buendia’s.
