With the advent of industrialization and modernization, we’re taking a league over other powerful nations. But, in this competition of the industries’ development, the environment is suffering to a great extent. The credit for the unprecedented changes in the environment goes to humans, of course. To know the human impact on the environment, look at the activities that bring about it.

Factors Affecting the Environment
Do you know that human activities are impacting the environment to a great extend? – here’s how:-
Overpopulation
With an improvement in our healthcare sector, the mortality rate is going high, since most humans get access to proper medical treatment. But, on the contrary, the natality growth is getting heights as well. Which means there is overpopulation, which leads to more need for food, space, and resources. Due to this, the clear-cutting of trees, increased pollution, etc. is affecting the ecosystem to a great extend.
Pollution
Another factor that leaves an impact on the environment is pollution. The more cars we’re buying, the more liquid waste is draining into the industries’ water bodies, causing more pollution. This, in turn, is affecting the global environment leading to smog, acid rain, global warming, etc. Don’t get aback when I tell you that air is most polluted. The U.S. alone is producing over 147 million metric tons of air pollution per year.
Global Warming
Global warming is the after-effects of increased CO2 levels in the atmosphere, which, in turn, causes an increase in temperature and exposure to harmful U.V. rays. Due to an increase in temperature, the impact on the atmosphere causes the melting of the glaciers resulting in a rise in ocean levels and flood in turn.
Climate Change
Another significant human impact on the environment is climate change. Due to an increase in the global temperature due to human activities, the earth experiences an inaccurate climate in different zones. While some part receives an excess of rainfall, other remains dry throughout. This, in turn, causes more frequent hurricanes and drought conditions, deploying the environment.
Genetic Modification
GMOs are bred crop that contributes to the growth of crops by helping it to sustain temperatures and yield more products. To protect these GMOs against ‘superweeds,’ the farmers till the soil and grow it. But, this tilling of the soil kills off good bacteria, resulting in faster drying of the soil and decreasing its fertile life span. This is another human impact on the environment that costs them depleted agriculture in the long run.
Other important human impacts on the environment include:-
Ocean Acidification, Water Pollution, Deforestation, Acid Rain, and Ozone Depletion
How You Can Save the Environment: 5 Easy Ways
- Make use of reusable bags, water bottles, etc. instead of plastic bags
- Adopt the 3 R’s, i.e., REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE
- Save resources such as electricity and water
Turn off the lights and tighten the tap properly to reduce wastage.
- Take up cleanliness drives and planting-trees drive.
Growing trees can combat climate change.
- Make use of public transport to reduce pollution.
