Hypothetical Scenario: You have been hired as the Project Manager for a small company, HangingChads, which provides electronic voter registration systems to governments. The company has been in the business since 2000, and has clients worldwide. The company recently signed a contract with the State of Confusion to manage that state’s voter registration system for the next decade. This system is currently hosted and operated by A Big Company (ABC) Corp., and the customer is not happy with how it is being operated. In 2016, this system was down for four hours on Election Day and as a result your customer was sued by the Center for No More Hanging Chads (CHMHC) for disenfranchising voters. The customer would like the system migrated to your company with minimal impact to voters or elections officials, a plan developed for migrating it, and a plan developed for operating it going forward. The CHMHC has agreed to dismiss the lawsuit if this project is completed successfully and on-time without any problems. This is your company’s largest client, so you have been given considerable resources to make this project a success. Your client has given you until: Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 11:59pm Eastern Time to submit your deliverables for this project. If you don’t meet your deadline, then significant penalties may result, and your employment may be terminated.

You will be migrating a software application, known as a Voter tration System from ABC Corp to HangingChads. Put simply, a voter registration system is effectively a large database of information about voters, which enables elections personnel to determine whether or not someone is registered to vote on Election Day. A voter registration system pulls data from numerous sources such as: Social Security Administration, Department of Justice, Department of Corrections, Department of Motor Vehicles, and data from voter registration forms. This system is very crucial to the State of Confusion, and numerous Federal and State
