Bicarb determined by CO2 in gas phase.

CO2 is determined by CO2 in the Lungs

=> CO2 content depends on metabolism and rate of breathing.

Release H+ ions => react with bicarb-> carbonic acid -> converted to CO2 and out of the lungs. (Carbonic Acid not really change)

OH Ions release => react with Carbonic Acid => Bicarb => CO2 dissolved => Carbonic Acid Unchanged.

**Removing CO2 from blood by lungs INCREASE pH

*Removing HCO3- (Bicarb) from blood pH by kidneys lower pH
