The average length (L) and width (W) of bird eggs are: Bird 1 -L=8.6, W=5.8; Bird 2 - L=1.9, W=1.5; Bird 3 - L=3.1; W=2.3; Bird 4 - L=1, W=1; Bird 5 - L=5, W=3.3.

a. Assume that a bird's egg is roughly the shape of an ellipsoid. Use the following formula to estimate the volume of an egg of each bird. V=(4*(pi)ab^2)/3

b. The average length of an egg of width W is given by L=1.585W-0.487. Using this result and the ideas in part a, show that the average volume of an egg of width W centimeters is given by V=@DIV{?(1.585W@Sup{3}-0.487W@Sup{2});6}. Use this formula to calculate the average volume for the bird eggs in part a, and compare with your results from part a.
