Victims of domestic abuse often show no motivation to help themselves or to even make life changes that would make for a more stable home life for their children. Often these people will not accept help if offered. Using your book and other materials (if needed), explain how an external locus of control and learned helplessness can leave someone feeling powerless and how, if put in this position, a person is less likely to seek help even if it urgently needed.
