Ensuring the integrity of data and information in the health record is critical to the value of the use of the record for patient care as well as use of the health information contained within the record for administrative purposes and research and legal purposes. Organization-wide policies must be in place to safeguard the integrity of the health record and healthcare databases for these purposes. Evaluate the TennDent HIPAA Access Control policy, comparing it for benchmarking purposes to the Federal trer - Security and Electronic Signature Standards document (both are provided in the Module 01, Benchmarking Resources). After comparing the HIPAA Access Control policy from TennDent to the Federal ter guidelines, write your organization-wide policy including the information from the TennDent policies that you recommend and adding or deleting information as you determine appropriate.

The completed typed policy should be 1 page. If you use a source for the policy, state the source at the end of the policy under a heading titled references.
