In this activity, you'll be writing a narrative, your own original

In this activity, you'll be writing a narrative, your own original story, from the point of view of Grendel. You'll make decisions about structure and development to enhance overall meaning. Then you'll present your story to the class.
The following pages and your writing guide will help you. Be sure to answer all the questions in your writing guide; by doing so, you'll have a draft of your assignment by the end of this activity.
The assignment for this lesson is to write a story from the perspective of Grendel, the monster in the epic tale Beowulf. The narrative must include a plot and characterization that both center on a strong conflict.
You should have created a draft of this assignment in the writing activity called "Prepare a Narrative." If you didn't complete that activity, you should go back and do so now. If you have already completed the draft, continue to the next page to start revising.
