Learning refers to the process of acquiring new knowledge, while strategy refers to the way to get new knowledge. Both complete each other. Students should keep at the centre of the learning process. A school is a place where many subjects are taught to students. It becomes almost painful for students to recall all the subject contents. For this learning, strategies come into play to improve the way students learn. Learning strategies are vital for the accomplishment of educational goals.

Various learning strategies for student’s

1. Reciprocal questioning

In this method, the student takes the role of the teacher. Ask students to create their questions regarding the given topic and ask with their peers. Reciprocal questioning allows students to think about the questions and clear doubts as well. This type of learning strategy is helpful in:

Preparation of test or examination

Introducing a new topic in class

2. Pause procedure

Encourage pause between your lectures to enhance understanding of students teaching materials. During these breaks, encourage students to discuss notes, clarify points, and raise questions. This will make doubts of students clear and improve their learning. According to a study, the pause procedure is a good learning strategy that helps students review their studies.

3. Interview

This method allows students to quiz with each other, sharing thoughts, and taking notes. It involves dividing students into groups and assign the role of interviewer, interviewee, and note maker. And rotating roles after each interview. The importance of this method are:

Help students in applying the various questioning method

Engaging students to work in cooperation

4. Audio-visual aids

Audio-visual aids allow students to grasp the information in a better way. Seeing the phenomena visually instead of theoretically helps students to recall the information quickly. It helps in capturing student’s attention. It leads to saving energy and time of teachers and providing a clear image to students.

5. Advocate approach

An advocate approach is a learning strategy involving students to take part in a discussion. Students are divided into groups and asked to debate on a topic. One group is for the topic, while another group is against it. It will allow students to know both sides of the topic and viewpoints. It will make students more engaging and think more critically.

6. Peer teaching

This type of method is the most effective to increase students learning capacity. Some of its advantages are:

Peer tutoring

This process means where one student is teaching the other student. This is helpful as it reduces the teacher’s load and involves peer interaction.

7.
